Recent History

The events of the last few years have seen millions of people displaced from their homes. The reason for many of the foreclosures that have occurred was due to predatory lending practices that prayed on peoples misunderstandings about loan programs that started with low rates that would quickly adjust to higher rates, and on loose lending guidelines that did not require people to provide strong proof of their incomes, which allowed people to not properly consider their financial position when purchasing. The result of these times were people acquiring homes that they had no way to afford, once the reality of financial constraints set in.

TexaStar's Philosophy

TexaStar's guiding philosophy in structuring its Lease Purchase Program was to help those that have been recently foreclosed, forced to short sell their homes, or first time home buyers to live in a home they want to purchase NOW while they work within a very specific and guided program that will allow them to qualify to buy the home within 5 years. In order to accomplish this goal TexaStar will seek to guide people on how to be better stewards of the financial resources they have, fix problems with their credit, properly align their debt to income ratios to qualify for purchasing a home that is within their budget, and then provide a financial benefit to them at the end of the program to pay for all or a significant portion of their down payment.

What Do We Mean By "Living in a Home You Want to Purchase NOW?
One of the most unique aspects of our Lease Purchase Program is to provide our participants with a selection of homes within various areas that fit within their financial constraints, and then allow them to have significant creative input into a complete remodeling of the home to suit their tastes for the style of finish out, and to bring the home up to like new standards. We believe allowing this kind of input will give our participants pride of ownership, and thus encourage them to work hard to complete the goals of the financial restructuring necessary to acquire financing in their own names.
